Here at Ryefield Court, we love a good party! And what better occasion to celebrate than St. Patrick’s Day? We celebrated in style, with the ‘Irish Special’ providing high-quality entertainment, and we also made cakes, served green beer and we also had plenty of Guinness. It was a great day enjoyed by everyone!
On Friday 1st March, some members of the Ryefield Court team took part in the Ready, Steady, GLOW walk in London in aid of Alzheimer’s Society. This walk after dark started at Paternoster Square, near St. Paul’s Cathedral, and gave the team the chance to raise money for those living with dementia with every step. This 4.5km route took them along the Thames and across iconic bridges, with great views of the Shard, Tower Bridge and St. Paul’s Cathedral, of course. As it was a memory walk, there was also the chance to write little messages and add them to the Memory Tree at the end.
We would love to see you at Ryefield Court this month, and we have two fantastic events lined up to make March extra-special. We hope you can make it in to see one or both of our great acts!
Without further ado, here’s what we have in store this March…
On Thursday 14th, we’re delighted to be welcoming Georgi Barratt back into our midst for a Singalong Cabaret Show! Georgi will be singing all sorts of well-known songs for us, including hits from ABBA, the Carpenters and more! Prepare yourselves for a trip down memory lane.
Our second event this month will take place on Thursday 28th, when we’ll be playing host to John Sessions – John is a very talented man and has the power to bring Frank Sinatra to life with his fantastic tribute act. This special performance is sure to make for an entertaining night.
You are more than welcome to come along to both of our events this month, complete with delicious food and drinks, all free of charge as usual – all we ask is for you to RSVP to let us know you’re coming. Please either email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01895 707106. We hope to hear from you soon!
Back on 22nd February, the Ryefield Court residents had the opportunity to cook with some professional chefs! Together, they created some delicious chocolate truffles topped with coconut, cocoa powder and ground almonds. They were so tasty, they didn’t last very long! They also beautifully decorated an impressive three-tier cake with jam, cream and fruits. This activity will no doubt take place again, as it was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who took part.
Love was in the air in February as we celebrated Valentine’s Day – the day started with each resident being given a rose, and this was followed by Valentine’s Afternoon Tea, complete with a little extra sprinkle of love!
To celebrate the life and poetry of Robert Burns, we put on a themed evening here at Ryefield Court back in January. The kitchen went above and beyond, cooking up an absolute Scottish storm, including haggis bon bons, smashed neeps and tatties and even a delicious whisky jus. To complete the night, we even had a bagpipes performance! What a treat.
This February at Ryefield Court, we’re delighted to say that we have two fantastic events lined up for you all – will you be joining us for both entertaining evenings?
The first of these events is a singing performance, as we will be welcoming Jen Merchant into Ryefield Court. It’s sure to be a fun night as Jen takes us on a journey through the ages with jazz and swing, rock ‘n’ roll, pop and more. Singing and dancing is very much encouraged! And great food choices will accompany the evening’s entertainment.
Our second event of the month is with the one and only Ed Saloman – Ed performed for us back at Christmas and we’re pleased to welcome him and his acoustic guitar back to Ryefield Court. Playing a mixture of classic soul, jazzy numbers and more, it’ll be a great evening, with some fantastic dinner choices available too.
To join us and to see Jen and Ed in action, please RSVP to email@example.com or call the team on 01895 707106.
We’re starting 2019 with a bang here at Ryefield Court, with two fabulous events this month in our home! We hope you can join us for one or both of these great evenings – but what are they?
Well, firstly we are putting on a Motown Show on Thursday 10th January, complete with a selection of delicious curry dishes. It’s sure to be a fun-filled night with Anna Nightingale, who will take us all back in time with a selection of soulful songs, then transition into the disco classics from the 1970s and ’80s – it’ll be a perfect night for those who enjoy a boogie.
We’re following this up with a Burns Night Special on Thursday 24th January, where we’ll be celebrating the life and poetry of Robert Burns. Come along and join the celebrations, where there will be dancing and singing, Scottish music and delicious traditional Scottish food.
To come along to our events this month, please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on 01895 707 106 – we hope to see you soon.
