We celebrated St. George’s Day in style this year, as the residents, their families and other members of the community enjoyed a performance by Bus Pass to Broadway! They entertained us all in the garden with a great show called ‘Hope and Glory’. We put on a big buffet for everyone to enjoy, with sausage rolls, sandwiches and pork pies, along with scones served with jam and cream.
We held a fabulous family fun day on Friday to celebrate Easter, and it was great to see all our residents and their family members having such a great time in the sun. Everyone took part in the fun and games, making it a really exciting afternoon – we had an Easter egg hunt, an Easter quiz, Easter bonnet competition and an egg and spoon race – we even had a visit from the Easter Bunny! And with Easter cake, hot cross buns and chocolates all being served, there were plenty of treats for everyone. It really was a great day; thank you to everyone for coming.
We have two wonderful acts lined up to entertain us all this April, and we really hope you can come along and join in the fun. We're kicking things off on Thursday 11th April with Claire Trusson paying us a visit to take us on her Musicals Journey - it's one you won't want to miss.
Our second event of the month will take place here in our home on Thursday 25th April, when Nick Caruso will be here to pay a Tribute to the Legends! This show incorporates all sorts of renowned artists' songs from the 1950s to present day, so there will be plenty of opportunities to sing along or get your groove on.
We can't wait - will you be joining us? Please RSVP to let us know you're coming by either emailing email@example.com or by calling 01895 707 106. As always, everything is completely free of charge!
Here at Ryefield Court, we love a good party! And what better occasion to celebrate than St. Patrick’s Day? We celebrated in style, with the ‘Irish Special’ providing high-quality entertainment, and we also made cakes, served green beer and we also had plenty of Guinness. It was a great day enjoyed by everyone!
On Friday 1st March, some members of the Ryefield Court team took part in the Ready, Steady, GLOW walk in London in aid of Alzheimer’s Society. This walk after dark started at Paternoster Square, near St. Paul’s Cathedral, and gave the team the chance to raise money for those living with dementia with every step. This 4.5km route took them along the Thames and across iconic bridges, with great views of the Shard, Tower Bridge and St. Paul’s Cathedral, of course. As it was a memory walk, there was also the chance to write little messages and add them to the Memory Tree at the end.
We would love to see you at Ryefield Court this month, and we have two fantastic events lined up to make March extra-special. We hope you can make it in to see one or both of our great acts!
Without further ado, here’s what we have in store this March…
On Thursday 14th, we’re delighted to be welcoming Georgi Barratt back into our midst for a Singalong Cabaret Show! Georgi will be singing all sorts of well-known songs for us, including hits from ABBA, the Carpenters and more! Prepare yourselves for a trip down memory lane.
Our second event this month will take place on Thursday 28th, when we’ll be playing host to John Sessions – John is a very talented man and has the power to bring Frank Sinatra to life with his fantastic tribute act. This special performance is sure to make for an entertaining night.
You are more than welcome to come along to both of our events this month, complete with delicious food and drinks, all free of charge as usual – all we ask is for you to RSVP to let us know you’re coming. Please either email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01895 707106. We hope to hear from you soon!
Back on 22nd February, the Ryefield Court residents had the opportunity to cook with some professional chefs! Together, they created some delicious chocolate truffles topped with coconut, cocoa powder and ground almonds. They were so tasty, they didn’t last very long! They also beautifully decorated an impressive three-tier cake with jam, cream and fruits. This activity will no doubt take place again, as it was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who took part.
Love was in the air in February as we celebrated Valentine’s Day – the day started with each resident being given a rose, and this was followed by Valentine’s Afternoon Tea, complete with a little extra sprinkle of love!
