We’ve been keeping ourselves really busy here at Ryefield Court, ensuring residents are entertained while staying safe. From tackling giant KerPlunk and Jenga to playing bingo and musical instruments – and enjoying the quieter pastimes of knitting and drawing - there’s been plenty happening, and of course some lovely pampering courtesy of the mobile beauty salon too!

There’s also been a busy calendar with lots of important dates to celebrate. Residents prepared for Easter with beautifully painted eggs and created lovely cards. There were plenty of hot cross buns and chocolate. We had great fun sewing cress seeds and completing a virtual egg hunt. And we enjoyed wonderful cakes donated by Yorkshire Dale Bakery.

St George’s Day was celebrated with some fabulous dancing and, as the country came together to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe, residents created some beautiful union flags to help mark the event.

We were humbled by Sarah Jane Owen from Serving Our Superheroes who donated
44 laundry bags for our staff to put their uniforms straight into the wash instead of using plastic bags. Thank you so much.

And Rani from Shrimad Rajchandra Mission gifted us a beautiful hamper as a thank you for all we do here. It was much appreciated.

Even when staff members aren’t in the building their extraordinary care continues: our carer Alan, who is self-isolating, sent in delicious doughnuts.

We are so grateful for the extraordinary amount of love and support we receive, and we wanted to personally thank the Hillingdon District Nursing Service by donating two luxury hampers. These lovely people do an amazing job supporting adult patients around Hillingdon, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Hertfordshire, and we just wanted to say thank you.

And all of us here at Ryefield Court wanted to express our gratitude to the social care workers and NHS staff by taking part in the Sparkle for Social Care fundraiser. Our wonderfully creative staff and residents created a beautiful glittery rainbow using hand-prints. The finished banner now takes pride of place outside the front door.
